Urban Development: Prospect Park Shelter

Summer Program Application

Students will work in teams to explore equity in urban development and the park system, and engage the community around Prospect Park to develop a plan to reactivate the Prospect Park Shelter. At the end of the program, students will propose their ideas to Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy (BOPC). A winning team, as selected by BOPC, will receive funds to begin implementing their vision!

This program will run Monday-Thursday for 6 weeks (July 10-August 17) from 9am-2pm. Our home base will be at Villa Maria College, however, weather dependent, we may meet at Prospect Park for community engagement and park activities.

This program is eligible for 3 sociology credits through Villa Maria College at no cost to participants. (College credit is optional.)
